Pantry
This special pantry and utility room is located just off the main kitchen area and
can be closed off from the kitchen when necessary. This area has become important
for the homeowners as it allows storage, laundry and other household activities
to be separated from other parts of the home. Sometimes you just don't feel like
folding clothes, so being able to shut off this area is a major advantage. While
it is attractive, the room is also highly functional. All grocery items are easily
seen and accessed and it has become an attractive area to display the owner's Fiesta
Ware collection with a special place for the complete Ivy Ware set featured on the
"I Love Lucy Show". What is not seen in this picture is the washer/dryer,
kitchen hot water heater (one of two in the home), utility sink and built-in ironing
board. The floors are Mexican Tile with dark grout. All of the shelving is clear
southern yellow pine from Red Suspenders as is all of the baseboard and window trim.
Notice the built-in accordion shade between the inner and outer window panes of
the Pella Designer Series Windows. The windows overlook the front surround porches
and the paved driveway to the house. You can see the Car barn in the background.
